Police Make Two Arrests in Fatal Stabbing in Riverdale

Prince George’s County Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Marcus C. Ferguson, 16, and Kenneth B. Gails, 18, both of the 6300 block of 64th Avenue in Riverdale, Maryland, in connection with the homicide of Glenn Ralph Adkisson, 74, of the 6200 block of 64th Avenue in Riverdale, Maryland.

On July 14, 2011, at approximately 12:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 6200 block of 64th Avenue for a report of a cutting. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that he was assaulted and stabbed in the parking lot while walking his dog. Adkisson was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and eventually lapsed into a coma. Adkisson died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, from injuries sustained from the assault.

Ferguson is charged with first degree murder and is being held on a no bond status. Gails is charged with second degree murder and is being held on a $750,000 bond. Robbery appears to be the motive.

Investigators will canvass the area along the 6300 block of 64th Avenue in Riverdale on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 11 a.m. to noon, to try and find additional witnesses to the incident. The lead detective in the case will be there and available for comment.
