Quick Arrest in Glenarden Murder

Jahwil Sheard

The Prince George's County Police Department along with the Glenarden Police Department made a quick arrest in a murder in Glenarden. The suspect is 37-year-old Jahwil Sheard of the 8800 block of Sterling Street in Landover. The victim is 26-year-old Terrell Maurice Burton of 10th Street in Northwest Washington.

On June 14, 2014, shortly before 9:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue in Glenarden for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they spotted a man who matched the suspect's description running from the area. They immediately stopped him. He was identified as Sheard. Not far away, patrol officers found Burton suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was rushed to a hospital where he died a short time later.  A knife was also recovered nearby.
