Charles Crockett

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has charged a 22 year-old Bowie man with the murder of his mother. Charles Elliott Crockett of the 12800 block of Holiday Lane is being held on a no-bond status.

On September 6, 2015, Bowie Police Department officers were called to the 12800 block of Holiday Lane in Bowie for a family dispute. When they arrived, they discovered 55-year-old Roberta Susan Crockett, who lived in the home, unresponsive.

Our investigation reveals the suspect, 22-year-old Charles Crockett of Holiday Lane in Bowie, got into an argument with his mother, Roberta Crockett. The suspect took a rolling pin and began to repeatedly hit his mother in the head with it, rendering her unconscious. During the assault, a relative in the home intervened, injuring the suspect with the rolling pin. The relative restrained the suspect until police officers arrived.
