Detectives Release Surveillance Video of Suspects Breaking into Cars



Please take a moment to watch this video of thieves breaking into cars in Oxon Hill. In the video, three suspects are seen going from vehicle to vehicle, checking to see if the doors are locked and looking for valuables. Items were stolen from several of the vehicles. This happened last month in a parking lot in the 800 block of Marcy Avenue.  

These types of thefts take just seconds to commit and are occurring across the county, typically in the early morning hours.

The PGPD is offering the following tips to help citizens prevent falling victim to these thefts: 
  •      Please always lock your car doors
  •      Do not leave any valuables inside of your vehicle
  •      Take bags out of your car or place them securely in the trunk
  •      Never leave your vehicle running while you’re not inside
