Suspect Arrested in Capitol Heights Homicide

The Homicide Unit arrested the suspect wanted for a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights last week. The suspect is 27-year-old Kevin Kavon Fleming Jr., of the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights.

On March 8th, at about 11:25 pm, a citizen flagged down an officer on patrol in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike. The officer found 31-year-old Timothy Wimbush in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminarily, detectives believe the fatal shooting stemmed from a dispute between the suspect and victim. Fleming is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
