Homicide Unit detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in our continued effort to locate and arrest a suspect wanted in a double homicide in Suitland in July. Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Robert Suesbury of the 1600 block of Euclid Street in Northwest Washington. Detectives believe Suesbury is still in our region.

On July 9th, at about 7:20 pm, patrol officers responded to the 4600 block of Silver Hill Road for the report of a shooting. Twenty-two-year-old Courtney Simms of 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills and 23-year-old Anthony Douglas of 28th Avenue in Marlow Heights were fatally wounded. The shooting occurred in an alleyway between two businesses.

One suspect is already in custody in connection with this case. He’s 19-year-old Jharrod Armstrong of the 1400 block of Fairmont Street in Northwest Washington. Investigators are working to identify the third suspect seen in surveillance video captured at the shooting scene.

The three suspects are seen on the surveillance video getting out of a car and then walking out of the screen toward the victims. After the shooting, one of the suspects is seen running back to the car. Preliminarily, detectives believe the suspects intended to rob the victims.

Armstrong and Suesbury are both charged with first and second degree murder.

Anyone with information about where we can find this suspect is asked to please call the Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), text “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to www.pgpolice.org and submit a tip online.
